Contains programs, news clippings, sheet music, scrapbooks and ephemera related to performing arts, primarily in Portland, Oregon, but also in other locales. Most materials relate to dance, theater, and music. Among the scrapbooks are those assembled by Edna Agler, Linley Morton Crichton, Al Franks, Mae Herbers, Nan Wood Honeyman, Samuel James, and Ariel Rubstein. The extensive series of sheet music includes popular songs, piano pieces, and orchestrations dating mostly from 1880-1960, many featuring illustrated covers. A small number of manuscript compositions by composers Charles E. Bray, Averta Terney, and others, are also included. The collection also contains sheet music and exercises from the Columbian Conservatory of Music, which had a branch in Portland, Or.
